ABOUT
Building today for a better tomorrow
Jay Cox, owner of IML Services, LLC, was raised from childhood in Southern Mississippi where he first began his construction career in residential framing where by his mid-twenties he was a foreman. For the next ten years he worked as the foreman and project manager for general contractors, diversifying his skill set and acquiring hands on knowledge of all facets of southern residential construction. In this time he remodeled countless homes. He has restored many historic homes with custom millwork and details.
In 2011 Jay moved to New Orleans where his interest in historic preservation thrived. He had the opportunity to be the lead carpenter on dozens of multi-million dollar projects all around the Greater New Orleans area. Following an injury he worked as an estimator and project manager for By Land or Sea Construcion; a local Marine Construction company before returning to the field. In 2017 He founded IML Services, LLC.
IML stands for "Ingenieur mit Liebe" translated from German to English as "engineer with love". These words were inspired by his native German deceased grandmother-in-law that he cared for with his wife until her death in 2018. Jay lives by these words on and off the job site. This motto is what the company is founded on.
Jay Cox now resides in Metairie with his wife, three children, his dog and his tortoise!
